Impromptu participation lead to....

It was Saturday morning 28.06.08. Three friends were heading to TSV Korntal for a Porsche AG Workers Soccer Tournament. It was a 6 a side soccer tournament. Azwan, Azri and me were joined by three others, Alex, Wolfgang, and Manuel. They were the Panamera Jr. and I were initialy "the photographer" for the team. It was 9.00 o'clock. One of their team mates didn't appear.

Reluctant to retreat team Panamera Jr. decide to go to the field without one man and as expected they lost the first game 0:1 to team Maschinenfuse. After rethinking their strategy Team Panamera Jr. pull off a win 2:1 in the second match against Colorado Mischung.

The team were in high spirit after the first win. Retaining the same strategy from the second match Panamera Jr. pushing hard believing that they could at least pull a draw. But in the end Panamera Jr. lost 0:3 and 0:4 in the third and fourth game respectively.

In the sixth game facing group leader Carrera United, Panamera Jr. captain suggest to me to join the game. at least to stop them from a bigger lost. Reluctantly I join fearing being booted out by referee for not being a Porsche worker. Luckily the referee didn't seem to mind of my appearance in the team.

Panamera Jr. now played a defending strategy against Carrera United. After all our effort to stop Carrera United, Panamera Jr. lost 0:5 the biggest lost of the day for Panamera Jr.

Now for the last game, knowingly we had 0 chance to advance to quarter finals, we are going to play this for fun. Due to opponent proper attacking Panamera Jr. conceded three goals. At the later stage of the game Panamera Jr. got several chance to counter attack.

A Goalkick went directly to Azwan Aziz, skillfully he dribble 2 defenders and passed the ball to me. With just the opponent goalkeeper ahead of me, I shoot the ball towards the right above corner of the goal. The goalkeeper dive to save the ball but failed thus I converted my first ever goal in competitive soccer tournament. Toward the end Azwan Aziz convert another goal for Panamera Jr. As the time run out Panamera Jr. lost the last game 3:2.

Overall result Panamera Jr. were 6th out of seven in Group B.
